Wild Hearts - Dales Pony III
Alone on the high ground, the light behind her, the moor rolling away in every direction. This is the Dales Pony as she has always been — self-contained, unhurried, entirely at home in a landscape that would exhaust most creatures.
The Dales is one of Britain's most endangered native breeds. Shaped by centuries of northern upland life, they carry something in them that feels older than the hills they stand on. There are precious few left.
I waited for this light. It was worth it.
