• White Horses of the Camargue

    • About this project

A photographic series celebrating the white horses of the Camargue - ancient wild horses indigenous to the salt marshes and wetlands of southern France. Considered one of the oldest horse breeds in the world, these semi-feral horses have roamed the Camargue region for thousands of years. Photographed over five days in the Camargue's coastal landscapes, this body of work captures the wild spirit and freedom of these remarkable horses as they move through salt marshes, shallow waters, and windswept beaches. The experience of photographing these horses was profound - observing their quiet moments, their connection to the landscape, and their undisturbed wildness. Each image celebrates the beauty and grace of horses living in harmony with their ancient homeland. Limited edition fine art prints available by enquiry.
