• About this project

  Documentary photography highlighting animal welfare issues and the vital work of rescue organizations worldwide. Every animal deserves five fundamental freedoms:

  1. Freedom from thirst, hunger, and malnutrition

  2. Freedom from discomfort

  3. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

  4. Freedom to express normal behaviour

  5. Freedom from fear and distress

  This body of work was created during a week-long documentation assignment with Animals in Crisis Egypt (ACE) in Luxor, Egypt. The images bear witness to severe animal cruelty and neglect, while also celebrating the tireless, compassionate work of ACE staff within the local community. The dedication I witnessed - staff working against overwhelming odds to rescue, treat, and rehabilitate abused and neglected animals - was profoundly inspiring. This work reminds us that meaningful change requires committed people willing to confront difficult realities. This work was donated to ACE and is not for sale. These images exist to raise awareness, support animal welfare campaigns, and document the urgent need for compassionate intervention. For animal welfare organisations, rescue charities, and NGOs: If you are seeking an experienced photographer to document your work, create campaign imagery, or undertake international assignments highlighting animal welfare issues, I am available for commission.
